Narcissistic Abuse Consultation Group

Biweekly Mondays 10A

by Jay Janiciki

narcissistic abuse consult group
  • Working with survivors of narcissistic abuse requires a delicate balance of insight, empathy, and strong clinical boundaries. These clients often arrive in therapy carrying deep wounds; questioning their reality, their worth, and their ability to trust others again. For therapists, this work can be both profoundly rewarding and emotionally complex.

The Narcissistic Abuse Consultation Group at Better Minds Counseling & Services is designed for clinicians who want to build confidence and clarity in supporting clients navigating the lasting effects of narcissistic relationships, whether romantic, familial, or professional.

This biweekly consultation group offers a space to explore challenging cases, deepen your understanding of trauma dynamics, and develop language that helps clients reclaim their sense of self. We’ll discuss patterns of manipulation, trauma bonding, cognitive dissonance, boundary setting, and the often-overlooked grief process that follows emotional abuse. Through collaborative case discussion and psychoeducation, participants will learn how to approach these cases with trauma-informed, empowering, and ethical care.

    You’ll also gain guidance in:

    • Differentiating narcissistic traits from narcissistic personality disorder.

    • Recognizing signs of covert manipulation and trauma bonding.

    • Navigating countertransference and therapist fatigue in complex client systems.

    • Supporting clients in rebuilding identity, trust, and autonomy.

    • Integrating approaches such as CBT, Narrative, and relational models in treatment.

Beyond clinical knowledge, this group emphasizes therapist support. Working with narcissistic abuse survivors can evoke strong emotional reactions and even mirror the dynamics clients describe. This consultation group provides a safe, validating space for therapists to reflect on their own responses, receive feedback, and strengthen their therapeutic stance.

Whether you’re newer to this population or have years of experience, this group will help you refine your interventions, feel less isolated in your work, and expand your clinical lens around relational trauma.

Join a community of clinicians committed to growth, reflection, and compassionate, informed care for survivors of narcissistic abuse. Together, we’ll explore how to help clients not only heal, but also rediscover who they are beyond the abuse.
